Bus Pondering

Submitted by Manwell on February 04, 2012.

You ever have those days where you sit and wonder where your life is at, at that precise moment? Its like you’re grateful for being alive but your mind is never ending in its pursuit of finding the next “thing” your life is supposed to find. For some it’s your constant desire for the significant other whom you believe will usher you into your next phase or for others it’s a promotion and more money that’ll do it for you. For me it’s that incessant plotting of Group 1 Crew getting to that next level. It’s the same for all of us!

When Things Go Wrong

Submitted by Manwell on January 06, 2012.

So it was our first night on winter jam and lets just say not everything went the way we wanted it to on stage ha! There were cues missed, wardrobe malfunctions and other issues which left us kind of feeling silly after we got off. But it didn’t last for long cause God quickly reminded me why we do what we do. Sure we’ll work on getting our set perfect, and it will be, but I never want to forget that perfect is when someone leaves our show with a joy that only God can provide. Lets go Winter Jam! 47 more cities and Group 1 has nothing but love and Christ to share. Lets go!!!

Mad love,

Night 1 Winter Jam

Submitted by Manwell on January 05, 2012.

So I’m here on our bus the night before Winter Jam with all the musicians just chatting about dreams and how amazing it is that we’re about to play in front of 10,000 + people when none of us ever conceived this day in our minds. There’s something inside everyone one of us that has a dream that seems so unrealistic because of its scale, that we want to shy away from it and never even push ourselves to go for it. I look at the people on this bus, each one of them insanely talented, and think if they never took that first step towards chasing their dream they wouldn’t be here!

Girls with style!!!

Submitted by Blanca on December 20, 2011.

Through out my time on the Rockin Worship roadshow with Mercy me and a few other one offs this past month, I was able to meet soooo many girls with great style that had so much personality! I thought it would be nice to share some pics I took with all of you… Thank you to all the girls who participated! Remember ladies, though we at times may not feel it, we are BEAUTIFUL just the way we are, and I’m sure we can find quite a few people that would agree with me. :-) Enjoy!

Christmas With Group 1 Crew

Submitted by group1crew on December 20, 2011.

We love this time of year and here are a few of our favorite things about Christmas!

BLANCA
Favorite Christmas memory:

I was getting to spend Christmas in Puerto Rico for the first time with my dad and my brother and all my family on the Island. I remember it being so different for me because I was so used to spending Christmas in Orlando with my mom. But it will always be a special memory for me because now that my father has passed, its memories like this one that you hope to remember forever.

My favorite part about Christmas:

Love

Submitted by Manwell on December 05, 2011.

I used to consider myself a hopeless romantic as I was growing up because there was no other subject that intrigued me more than that of love. If there was a choice to go to the movies and watch an action movie or a romantic comedy, I'd always pick the latter because there was something in me that craved understanding this subject that people die, lie, cheat and sometimes even kill for.

Consignment Store Shopping

Submitted by Blanca on September 15, 2011.

Not too long ago I got a chance to hang out with my friend Sarah Bernardo in NYC. Sarah is an amazing stylist who is constantly consulting me on new looks for the stage. Something that she is really really good at is consignment store shopping! I kid you not, every time that girl goes out to some of her favorite consignment shops, she always comes back with loads of incredible one of a kind finds that all together cost less than a new outfit from forever 21!! (That’s impressive) So this last visit I had to NYC I asked her to let me tag a long!

Meet Porscha

Submitted by Blanca on August 26, 2011.

It’s been long over due but meet my fashion fan #2, Porscha! I had the pleasure of meeting her at our show in Jacksonville, FL a week ago! I’ve done this once before in the past where I’ve picked a girl from our signing line to feature on Blanca’s boutique, due to their awesome fashion style. There are always so many girls I meet at our shows that have such incredible fashion and above all amazing hearts for the Lord. I hope to inspire you girls as much as you have inspired me!

Rock And A Hard Place

Submitted by Manwell on August 24, 2011.

I've never been one to pretend I'm ok when somethings wrong. I'm that guy who wears his emotions on his face and gets away with nothing! I guess that can be a good thing if you wanna figure me out or if you're trying to get a secret out of me. But being that vulnerable was always a perplexing situation for me. As men we're taught to be tough beyond the point of sharing feelings let alone exposing them. So playing the hardcore thug lasted only so long until I grew into my skin an found out that there was freedom in honesty.

Crazy Over Wedges!

Submitted by Blanca on July 29, 2011.

So one of my favorite things of this summer is the Wedge! Why, do you ask? 3 reasons: ready set go!

1. They are so comfortable!! I can literally go hours with a wedged shoe compared to a stiletto or pump where after 30 minutes my foot is in complete agony!! Lol

2. As a performer, it’s always difficult to find a shoe to wear on stage that looks cute and is also functional! I personally always revert back to sneakers or boots but now with the wedge I feel like I can wear a “heel” That’s girly and cute but still give my performance 100%!!
