He died... So that we can now live
So, Easter Sunday is coming up. And I thought I'd write (or I guess type) a blog about God's greatest Gift to us.
"In the beggining God created the heavens and the earth." - Genesis 1:1. God created everything. God knows everything that goes on. EVERYTHING. So God knew that we would screw up and sin.
See, God created us with free will. We have options. Without options we would be like robots. Always perfect; never making decisions for ourselves. So, since we have free will, we choose our own way. God placed the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden of Eden because otherwise Adam and Eve would have no options. And, being human (and please know that anyone of us would have done the same thing in their place.), chose to eat the fruit. They dissobeyed.
Now imagine this: You're in a world where everything is perfect. You have tons of loving animals, there's no hurting, and best of all, you get to walk with God Himself. Then you, screw up. You sin. That made God really mad. Because God is holy,we can no longer be with Him, 'cause sin can't be in the presence of holiness. So we're now seperated from God forever.
But God made us, we are His children, so He wants really badly to have a relationship with us!! So He made a way for us to be with Him again. That way is called Jesus Christ. Jesus came, and lived a perfect life because inorder to be with God you must be perfect (but every singe human sins). So Jesus lived a perfect life for us since we can't.
He also died for us so that we don't have to. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." Since we screwed up (sinned), we have to die. No excuses. But because Jesus lived perfectly, He died for us, so that we don't have to. Now we can live eternaly with God. There's no exeptions; no matter what you've done or who you are you can live with your Creator forever, as long as you believe, and exept that Jesus Christ died for you, so that you don't have to.
Remember that the original reason for Easter wasn't to celabrate with chocolate bunnies, but to celabrate Jesus rising from the dead, after paying the price for our wrongdoing. :)
Happy Easter!

Livia,
Im really glad that you took the time you type this message. You are so right in what you are saying. Easter isnt about chocolate bunnies or any of the things that they sell in the stores. Its about Jesus rising from the dead! May God bless you this Easter! Have a wonderful day!
