Consignment Store Shopping

Submitted by Blanca on September 15, 2011.

Not too long ago I got a chance to hang out with my friend Sarah Bernardo in NYC. Sarah is an amazing stylist who is constantly consulting me on new looks for the stage. Something that she is really really good at is consignment store shopping! I kid you not, every time that girl goes out to some of her favorite consignment shops, she always comes back with loads of incredible one of a kind finds that all together cost less than a new outfit from forever 21!! (That’s impressive) So this last visit I had to NYC I asked her to let me tag a long!

The greatest thing about thrift store shopping in NYC is that because there already is incredible fashion throughout that whole city, you’re destined to find something amazing in one of these stores! One woman’s trash is another woman’s treasure right?? There are many things in my closet that I don’t where just because I feel they don’t fit me right or just because I feel I’ve played them out, but I bet you if one of my friends came over and saw me about to throw them away they would be like “WAIT, what are you doing, I’ll take those!!” That’s sorta how this consignment thing works sometimes. One of my favorite spots we hit up was buffalo exchange. They had so many different dresses and jewelry, shoes and more! I was grateful for Sarah being there cause she really has an eye for picking out things that I would most likely just walk past and not notice! That day I walked out with one amazing romper/jumpsuit and a great ring and she walked out with some hot earrings and a beautiful dress.

So for all of you who have never been or are against the thrift store shopping thing, you’re missing out! And for the rest of you, who have known about it forever, do it all the time and are pros like Sarah, Welcome your newest member, Blanca, to the club!!
Haha!

XOXO
Blanca
