Group 1 Crew – Ordinary Dreamers review by Rich Smith

Ordinary Dreamers is the second album from Group 1 Crew, their debut self titled album won a Dove award, unusual for a debut album but not surprising as the album was awesome and very original sounding, with their powerful Latin infused R&B hip hop mix, and they do not fail to deliver this on Ordinary Dreamers. The sound has matured but is still original, and still has awesome uplifting beats and lyrics. Every track on the album is fantastic; it is another one of those rare albums as their first was that you like all the tracks.

Tis the season to be thankful and that we truly are. Thankful for the grace of God, thankful for your support, and thankful for the opportunity to continue to do what we love to do. We seriously appreciate each and everyone of you because without you there would be no us. I love that that's how this industry works. We need each other and that's not a bad thing! It's actually one of reality. I'm extremely thankful for this because it puts our lives into this lovely perspective. WE NEED EACH OTHER!!! I love that!!!

Welcome Group 1 fam to the place where dreams meet reality and that reality becomes the future of the world as we know it. This campaign called "Ordinary Dreamers" is a chance for you to see and hear Group 1 Crew from its conception to where we're at today. Our heart for this idea is to show you that everything and everyone begins their quest for their dreams in sometimes small and seemingly insignificant ways. We started recording our records at each other's houses, using closets for a sound booth and our parents' living rooms for the actual studio.

Group 1 Crew jumps back on the hip-hop scene with their sophomore release, Ordinary Dreamers. While I didn't completely share the majority of enthusiastic ember response for their self-entitled debut album, I have to admit I'm ‘hip-hopping' on the bandwagon this time around. I get a hint of 4th Avenue Jones and some Toby Mac, but even that is a stretch. Why? G1C is as unique as you get.

We are having a BLAST at our very first Revolve Tour stop in Columbus this weekend! It’s amazing how God uses both little things all the way to big events to speak to His people. We get to perform new songs from Ordinary Dreamers, which hits in only 4 days! This new album is a way for us to share how God has spoken to us and worked in our lives. Check it out!
